“The Collège Sainte Famille will represent Kinshasa at the national championship of the cultural game “Génies en Herbe” UNwomen version after a resounding victory”

The Holy Family College of the commune of Ndjili will represent the city of Kinshasa at the National Tournament of the cultural game “Génies en Herbe” UNwomen version. This school brilliantly won the final played in the studios of the Congolese National Radio Television (RTNC), this Thursday, May 25, 2023.

The match was between two schools in the Tshangu district, Collège Sainte Famille and Maman wa Boboto of Masina. The eight protagonists, four students per team, revealed their level of general culture under the animation of the famous presenter Simon Mbaki Mazakala. In the first half, Collège Sainte Famille took the advantage over Masina by leading 65 to 40. On the return, Sainte Famille increased their lead, and finally won the final with a score of 125 to 80 points.

Exaucé, a pupil of Sainte Famille, is the best performing player on the team, scoring more points than the others. His colleagues, Konga, Gédéon and Bonheur, also contributed to the success of the team. The champion team will thus represent Kinshasa at the national championship of the RTNC Onufemmes tournament next June.

It is important to note that for this competition, the students of both teams wore t-shirts conveying a message to fight against violence against women. This laudable initiative makes it possible to raise awareness among the population, especially young people, of the challenges of the fight for women’s rights.

This cultural event allows young people to take part in a fun and educational activity, which has a positive impact on their personal development. Events like this should be promoted and organized in a way that gives more young people the opportunity to participate and grow through these cultural competitions
