
In this article, we look at the support of the European Union (EU) for the recommendations of the United Nations report on the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The EU expresses its concern at the deterioration of the situation in eastern DRC and expresses its support for the actions needed to end impunity. The UN report highlights the alarming levels of violence and atrocities perpetrated against civilians by armed groups. The EU strongly condemns these acts and calls for those responsible to be brought to justice. To end impunity, it is essential to intensify peacekeeping operations, strengthen cooperation between security forces and encourage transitional justice. The commitment of the international community and the Congolese authorities is crucial to ensure the security and protection of Congolese civilians.
