The Congolese armed forces are engaged in a fight against the Mobondo attackers in the provinces of Maï-ndombe and Kwango in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Mobondo militia threatens peace and stability in the region. The conflict between the Teke and Yaka communities is at the root of this threat, mainly due to land disputes. The Congolese government has stepped up its efforts to combat this threat and recently captured a Mobondo leader. They are determined to restore peace in the region and are doing everything to eradicate this violence.
