The National Primary School Leaving Examination (ENAFEP) 2023 edition began on Thursday, June 1 with a total of 62,107 candidates, including 29,233 girls. The vice-governor of the province of Kasaï Central presided over the opening ceremony, thanking President Félix Tshisekedi for free basic education and the construction of numerous school infrastructures. Last year, 58,809 candidates took the exam. We wish success to all applicants.
The UNHCR Deputy High Commissioner has announced a positive step forward in the security crisis between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda. Refugees from each country now have the opportunity to express their desire to return, but this must be done on a voluntary basis. The tripartite in Geneva last May enabled this important step forward which affected many people in both countries.
