Fatshimetrie: Congolese opposition refuses any change to the Constitution

**Fatshimetrie: The opposition closes the door to constitutional change in the DRC**

At the heart of political news in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Alliance for Change party, led by opponent Jean-Marc Kabund, clearly expressed its categorical refusal of the proposed change to the Constitution, initiated by the President of the Republic.

It was during a politically charged morning, on Saturday, December 7 in Kinshasa, that the leaders of this party affirmed their unequivocal position. For Antoinette Bijoux Bilali, vice-president of the Alliance for Change party, it is out of the question to tolerate both a change and the revision of the Constitution.

This strong and determined position underlines the firmness of the opposition in the face of attempts to modify the constitutional foundations of the country. By actively opposing this official proposal, the Alliance for Change party defends the integrity and stability of the Constitution, considered the foundation of democracy and the rule of law.

This political stance highlights the crucial issues related to the Congolese Constitution and underlines the importance of preserving the democratic principles on which it is based. The opposition thus affirms its desire to protect democratic achievements and to guarantee compliance with the rules established to ensure transparent and fair functioning of institutions.

By vigorously opposing the constitutional change project, the Alliance for Change party defends not only its political values, but also the general interest and stability of the country. This position is part of an approach to preserving democracy and responsible governance, by refusing any questioning of the legal and institutional foundations that govern Congolese society.

At a time when political debates are intensifying and divergences are being felt, this clear and committed position by the opposition marks a decisive moment in the political life of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It underlines the need to preserve national unity and social cohesion by respecting the essential democratic principles that guarantee peace, justice and progress for all citizens of the country.

By refusing all forms of constitutional manipulation and affirming its commitment to democratic values, the Congolese opposition shows the way towards a political future based on transparency, responsibility and respect for individual and collective freedoms. This peaceful and determined resistance testifies to the political maturity and moral firmness of the progressive forces engaged in the construction of a just, equitable and democratic society in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
