The 5th National Forum of the Caritas Network in the Democratic Republic of Congo promises to be a crucial opportunity to strengthen efficiency and solidarity within the organization, with a view to building resilient and prosperous communities. Scheduled from 16 to 18 October 2024 at the Caritas Reception Center in Kinshasa/Gombe, this event is of capital importance for the future of Caritas Congo ASBL.
Under the theme “The Caritas Network in the DRC, more efficient and more united to build resilient and flourishing communities together”, this forum aims to raise awareness among stakeholders on the importance of good governance and to strengthen the commitment of partners for a sustainable reconstruction of Caritas in the service of the most vulnerable communities. The vision of the Executive Secretary of Caritas Congo ASBL will serve as a guide for discussions aimed at promoting Christian values and a just and fraternal society.
This meeting for reflection and exchanges will allow to validate strategic orientations and priority actions for the period from January 2025 to December 2030. Key themes such as partnership, governance and the construction of an effective Caritas network will be at the heart of the debates, highlighting the importance of cooperation and solidarity to ensure the development of vulnerable communities.
The discussions will also focus on capitalizing on experiences and lessons learned in institutional development and capacity building of member organizations of the Caritas network, as well as on humanitarian assistance and health promotion. The objective is to imagine innovative approaches to serve, support and defend the most deprived with professionalism and commitment.
This forum will bring together approximately 100 participants, representing various entities such as the National Executive Secretariat of Caritas Congo ASBL, the Directors/Coordinators of Caritas-Développement, the Directors/Coordinators of Caritas Provinciales, the Technical and Financial Partners of the Caritas Internationalis network, experts and special guests. This diversity will undoubtedly contribute to enriching the debates and fostering a collaborative and supportive approach for the benefit of vulnerable communities in the DRC.
