A crucial step for education in Kikwit: Laying of the first stone of the new auditorium of the Catholic Technical Higher Institute

The city of Kikwit, located in the province of Kwilu, was recently the scene of a significant event for the education and training of young students. Indeed, the bishop of the diocese of Kikwit presided over the ceremony to lay the foundation stone of a new building intended to house the auditoriums and various services of the Catholic Technical Higher Institute of Kikwit (ISTCK).

This initiative takes on its full meaning in the face of the significant growth in the number of students at the institute, from 204 to 491 students between the academic years 2022-2023 and 2023-2024. Bishop Timothée Bodika Mansiyay of Kikwit, stressed the importance of this construction to improve student accommodation capacities and ensure optimal learning conditions.

The general director of the establishment highlighted the vision and good management of the management committee, which made this project a reality. By providing ISTCK with modern infrastructure, the aim is to guarantee the quality of the training provided and to offer an optimal working environment for the teaching and scientific staff.

Created in 2011 as a private Catholic higher education institute, ISTCK obtained its accreditation in 2022 and offers various courses such as management information technology, project management and administration, agro-veterinary science, nutrition-dietetics, clothing techniques, administration and human resources, among others.

This initiative is part of an approach of academic excellence and professionalization of students, thus contributing to the development of skills essential to the job market. Investing in suitable infrastructure is a guarantee of quality for higher education and confirms ISTCK’s commitment to the education and training of younger generations.

This new step in the evolution of the Catholic Technical Higher Institute of Kikwit marks an important turning point for education in the region, demonstrating the desire to offer students the best conditions to train and flourish in their university courses.
