Fatshimetrie, September 18, 2024 – A strong decision was taken in the concession of the Régie des Voies Aériennes (RVA) in Lubumbashi, in the heart of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Indeed, the national Minister of Urban Planning and Housing, Crispin Mbadu Phanzu, announced during a field visit the rapid demolition of the anarchic constructions erected illegally on an area of approximately 20 hectares belonging to the RVA.
During this visit, the minister strongly condemned the disorder that reigns on this site, the result of the spoliation orchestrated by various individuals. He clearly indicated that all illegal constructions must be demolished, without any exception. In addition, he affirmed his willingness to prosecute and hold accountable those who participated in this spoliation of the State’s heritage.
Accompanied by the Governor of Haut-Katanga, Jacques Kyabula Katwe, and other officials, the Minister stressed the importance of taking firm measures to protect the State’s land assets and combat abuses.
This strong decision expresses the authorities’ determination to put an end to illegal practices and restore order in land management. It also illustrates the government’s commitment to transparency and good governance, which are essential for the country’s sustainable development.
