The Unit Commander, Augustine Padonu, revealed that the victim had been subjected to multiple assaults, to the point of being forced to undergo an abortion. The suspects, three men aged 18, 19 and 43, were accused of conspiring to commit the heinous acts in the Oranyan area of ​​Ibadan in June.

The eldest of the suspects, a taxi driver, was said to have taken the victim to an unlicensed nurse to perform the abortion. The 23-year-old nurse was also arrested for her involvement in the crime.

In addition to this case, another 19-year-old suspect was arrested for allegedly raping his employer’s nine-year-old daughter. Cases of fraud have also been reported, including three individuals suspected of conning a victim of N17 million by pretending to provide her with a visa.
