Fatshimetrie is pleased to present to you a major event in the world of Congolese football: the closing of the Leopards U20 detection course at the Kurara Mpova technical center. This training course, which lasted five days, concluded with a fixture match won 4-1 against the As Malole team.
Under the careful direction of coach Guy Bukasa, thirty-one young players were able to demonstrate their talent and potential. Bukasa, having a clear vision of the profiles needed to build a solid team for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September, underlined the importance of this detection period for the constitution of a competitive national selection.
This sporting meeting was not simply a football match, but the fruit of a long-term strategy aimed at strengthening the Congolese talent pool. Indeed, this fifth internship is added to a series of four others carried out between June 2023 and July 2024, demonstrating Bukasa’s commitment and determination to structure and strengthen the national team.
The objective is clear: to form a strong and competitive U20 team, representing all the provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This approach is part of a perspective of regularity and consistency in international competitions, with the aim of participating in the next CAN U20, twelve years after the last historic participation of the DRC in 2013.
Among the players who particularly stood out during this training course, we can cite Ibrahim Motobo, Faveurdi Bongeli and Dylan Lumbu. Their talent, determination and versatility impressed the coach and suggest a bright future for Congolese youth in football.
In conclusion, this Leopards U20 detection course marks a further step towards the rebirth and consolidation of Congolese football. Thanks to the commitment and hard work of young players and technical staff, the hope of a remarkable performance during the next CAN U20 qualifiers is more present than ever. Let’s stay attentive and support our young talents, because it is together that we can build a bright future for Congolese football.
