The road rehabilitation project at Osborne Foreshore Estate in Lagos is currently attracting a lot of attention and interest. This initiative, which aims to improve the condition of the asphalt sections from Osborne Foreshore Estate to the Sura Bridge Ramp, will take effect from June 26 to July 27. This announcement was made by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, in a statement issued last Tuesday.
The decision to divert traffic during this period will allow the Federal Ministry of Works to carry out the first phase of the rehabilitation works. Road users coming from Alexander and Glover are therefore invited to take Oba Adeyinka Oyekan Avenue towards Ikoyi to join Obalende/Ring Road and access the Third Mainland Bridge to continue their journey.
For their part, motorists coming from Victoria Island are invited to pass through the Falomo roundabout to reach Awolowo Avenue and access the Third Mainland Bridge to reach their destination. Alternatively, they can also take Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue to reach Mekunwen Bridge and then head towards CMS/Apongbon Bridge, Eko Bridge and Funsho Williams Avenue to reach their respective destinations.
This traffic diversion aims to guarantee the safety of road users and to facilitate the completion of the rehabilitation work within the allotted time frame. This is an important measure to maintain road infrastructure in good condition and ensure smooth flow of traffic in the Osborne Foreshore Estate area of Lagos.
It is essential that motorists keep informed of the alternative routes proposed in order to best plan their trips during this work period. Everyone’s cooperation is necessary to ensure the smooth running of operations and minimize traffic disruptions.
Ultimately, these rehabilitation works will help improve the quality of life for residents and road users at Osborne Foreshore Estate. They reflect the authorities’ commitment to ensuring a safe and functional road network for all.
