Electricity rationing in Egypt: Call for eco-responsibility and solidarity

Electricity rationing due to shortages of fuel and natural gas supplied to power plants began in Egypt. The scorching heat that the country is currently experiencing has led to an increase in electricity consumption, exceeding 35,000 megawatts. This situation led the National Electricity Control Center to implement power cuts for three hours.

According to a source at the Ministry of Electricity cited by the Fatshimetrie news agency, it is hoped that these cuts will only be temporary, pending an increase in gas supplies. In the meantime, citizens are asked to rationalize their consumption by adopting simple but effective actions, such as setting the air conditioning to 25 degrees, closing the curtains and doors, in order to reduce their energy consumption. These actions will not only help preserve the country’s energy resources, but also reduce the amount of their electricity bill at the end of the month.

It is essential that everyone contributes to this collective effort by adopting eco-responsible practices. Indeed, the current situation highlights the importance of preserving energy resources and the need to rethink our consumption patterns. By showing solidarity and responsibility, we can all play a crucial role in preserving the environment and the sustainability of energy sources.

In conclusion, the current situation in Egypt highlights the urgency of a transition towards more sustainable, environmentally friendly and energy efficient consumption patterns. By adopting simple daily actions, everyone can help preserve the country’s energy resources and guarantee a more sustainable future for future generations.
