Supervision of young people during the holidays in Likasi: An exemplary mobilization for the future of youth

Fatshimetrie, June 22, 2024 – The youth of Likasi, in the Haut-Katanga province in the Democratic Republic of Congo, are in full swing. Indeed, a movement of young people was recently called upon to supervise their peers during the summer holidays, during an important meeting at the town hall.

Henry Mungomba, Mayor of Likasi, launched a vibrant appeal to members of the Kiro movement and other youth organizations to take charge of supervising young people during this holiday period. “I call on the Kiro movement and other youth groups to mentor their peers during the holidays. Mobilize yourself, young people need you,” he declared.

In a concrete gesture of support, the mayor gave the youth movements present sporting equipment such as drums, uniforms and footballs, thus committing to supporting them in their approach to mentoring young people in the region. .

In response to this call, the Kiro movement select committee pledged to actively mobilize local youth during the holidays, expressing gratitude to the mayor for his valuable support.
