The film “Insecure”, directed by Ben Nwokike, promises a captivating exploration of the themes of love, breakup, betrayal and infidelity. The short extract revealed immerses us in the emotional journey of Beverly Naya and Efa Iwara, embodying a couple who see their romantic relationship transform into a matrimonial union. However, trouble arises when Naya feels threatened by the presence of Iwara’s new colleague, played by Venita Akpofure.
The emotional dynamic becomes even more complex when Naya’s feelings of insecurity cause tension within the couple, gradually transforming them from deep lovers into bitter enemies. Akpofure’s role as a malevolent figure, determined to capture Iwara’s attention, adds a dimension of conflict to the story.
“Insecure” marks the feature film directorial debut of Ben Nwokike, while the cinematography was handled by Barnabas Emordi. Filming wrapped up after several weeks on set in the first half of 2023, bringing together a talented cast including Ade Laoye, Demi Bawo, Micheal Ejoor, Darasimi Nadi, Daniel Abua, Tope Olowoniyan, Tunbosun Aiyedehin and Anthony Azekwoh .
