Article: Candidates for national delegation in the DRC: the final list finally published
This Saturday, September 23, the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) in the Democratic Republic of Congo made public the final list of candidates for national deputy for the next elections. This announcement marks a major step in the ongoing electoral process in the country.
Of the 242 petitions filed with the Constitutional Court, 141 were found admissible and well-founded, while 43 were found admissible but unfounded, and 68 were found inadmissible. Among the requests deemed admissible and well-founded, the Constitutional Court ordered the registration of four political parties and groups: the Alliance of Congolese for the Refoundation of the Nation, Amour du Prochain et de la Patrie Congo, the Patriotic Front 2023 and the New Conscious Generation.
The final lists of candidates for the election of national deputies are now displayed in the CENI branches of each electoral constituency and can be consulted on the official website of the Electoral Commission (www.ceni.cd).
This publication of the final list of candidates marks the official start of the electoral campaign, which is scheduled from November 19 to December 18, 2023, in accordance with the electoral calendar already made public.
