The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix Tshisekedi, addressed the issue of improving the business climate during the last Council of Ministers. He called on the government to spare no effort to promote the investments that are necessary for the socio-economic development of the country.

President Tshisekedi underlined the key role of public officials in ensuring a business-friendly environment. All public officials must be aware that they are “business climate agents”, constantly called upon to implement the values ​​and principles of public service and administration.

He also warned against the hassle and arbitrary behavior of the tax administration and said that the latter must remain noble, qualitative and free from vice.

The President further instructed the government’s Ecofin Commission to carry out a comprehensive inventory of the pre-shipment verification program of goods imported into the DRC, in collaboration with his cabinet and all relevant stakeholders.

It is crucial that the DRC continues to improve its business climate to attract and retain the investments that the country needs for its development. President Tshisekedi has clearly expressed his support for this cause by calling on public officials to be more virtuous and by eliminating obstacles to the country’s economic development.
