“The groundbreaking battery industry project in the DRC is attracting international attention and will be the focus of the energy transition forum in London”

The project of the battery industry in the Democratic Republic of Congo is the subject of great attention and will be at the heart of the DRC-United Kingdom forum on energy transition and investments which will be held in London from 5 to 9 September. This initiative aims to change the economy of African countries by promoting green energy and abandoning polluting fossil fuels.

Under the leadership of the Minister of Industry, Julien Paluku Kahongya, the Democratic Republic of Congo wishes to convince the United Kingdom to join the country in setting up a manufacturing plant for precursors of electric batteries, batteries and electric vehicles in the province of Haut-Katanga. This project already benefits from the support of the United States, China via CATL-CMOC and the European Union.

The DRC-United Kingdom forum thus aims to mobilize Congolese and British political and economic actors to promote a carbon-free economy. Jean-Bosco Kanyemesha, Managing Director of KING STRATEGY, partner of the Ministry of Industry in the organization of this event, encourages economic operators from both countries to unite to promote this transition to clean energies.

This battery industry project in the Democratic Republic of Congo is generating real enthusiasm and the interest of many international players. It represents a real opportunity for the country to diversify its economy and to be part of a sustainable development approach. The DRC-UK forum will strengthen partnerships between the two countries and open up new prospects in the green energy sector.

In conclusion, the battery industry project in the Democratic Republic of Congo is a promising initiative that aims to transform the economy of African countries by promoting green energy. The DRC-UK forum on energy transition and investments will be a key event to mobilize political and economic actors and realize this vision of a low-carbon economy
