Shock resignation of a Congolese provincial minister: light on the problems of governance and opacity

Christian Ndonge Matuka, provincial minister in charge of agriculture, fisheries, livestock and rural development in the province of Mongala, recently resigned from his functions within the government. His resignation letter, dated July 14, highlights several reasons that led him to make this decision.

In this correspondence addressed to the provincial governor, Christian Ndonge Matuka first underlines the ungovernability of the province. He denounces the inability of the provincial government to ensure effective and transparent management of administrative and financial affairs.

The resigning minister also refers to the opacity that reigns within the provincial executive, led by César Limbaya Mbangisa. He refuses to be complicit in the questionable practices and abuses of power that characterize this administration.

He claims to distance himself from this power marked by tyranny and opacity, as a representative of the presidential party whose motto is “Le Peuple D’Abord”. He clearly expresses his refusal to be associated with actions that go against the interests of the Congolese people.

It is important to emphasize that the resignation of Christian Ndonge Matuka is not an isolated case. It comes shortly after the resignation of the provincial minister in charge of infrastructure, public works and reconstruction of Mongala, Norbert Adambu. These successive resignations underline the persistent problems within the provincial government of Mongala.

These events highlight the importance of transparent and accountable governance that truly puts the interests of the people first. The members of the government have the duty to serve the population and to ensure the rigorous management of public affairs.

This resignation also raises questions about political stability in the region. The challenges facing the province of Mongala require competent and committed management. It is essential to put in place measures aimed at solving governance problems and ensuring the well-being of the inhabitants of the region.

In conclusion, the resignation of Christian Ndonge Matuka highlights the problems of governance and opacity that persist within the provincial government of Mongala. It also underlines the importance of transparent and responsible management, based on the interest of the Congolese people
