Title: The educational provinces of Kinshasa-Plateau and Kinshasa-Tshangu in the fight against anti-values: a challenge for education
Introduction:
In the education sector in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, some provinces are faced with a major problem: anti-values. This is particularly the case of the educational provinces of Kinshasa-Plateau and Kinshasa-Tshangu, described by the Minister of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education, Tony Muaba Kazadi, as “seats of anti-values”. In this article, we will explore the actions taken by the ministry to combat these anti-values and improve the quality of education in these provinces.
Anti-values to fight:
According to Minister Tony Muaba Kazadi, the educational provinces of Kinshasa-Plateau and Kinshasa-Tshangu face many anti-values. Among them, we find non-compliance with official instructions, the collection of illicit fees, the increase in fees for certification tests, the consideration of students as customers, as well as the misuse of operating costs allocated to schools. These anti-values have a negative impact on the quality of education and jeopardize the future of students.
A mobilization for moral rearmament:
In order to fight against these anti-values, the Minister Tony Muaba Kazadi launched a series of meetings of moralization and moral rearmament of the Heads of schools, private and public, of Kinshasa-Plateau and Kinshasa-Tshangu. The objective of these meetings is to recall the official instructions and to give clear directives to the heads of establishments. The Minister thus wishes to reverse the trend and ensure that the educational establishments of these provinces rediscover the values of integrity and professionalism.
Challenges faced:
However, the task does not look easy. The Secretary General of the Ministry, Christine Nepa Nepa, stressed that some senior officials of the Ministry are themselves involved in these anti-values, which makes the fight against them more complex. It is therefore essential to strengthen transparency and ethics within the Ministry to guarantee the proper execution of instructions and the effective fight against these anti-values.
Conclusion:
The fight against anti-values in the educational provinces of Kinshasa-Plateau and Kinshasa-Tshangu is a priority for the Ministry of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education. Restoring the integrity and quality of education in these provinces is essential to ensuring a brighter future for students. This will require the mobilization of all actors, from the base to the top, to combat these anti-values and promote values of transparency, professionalism and ethics in the education sector.. There is still a long way to go, but with political will and concerted action, it is possible to create an educational environment conducive to the development of young Congolese
