The Democratic Republic of Congo is preparing for its 4th electoral cycle which will take place in December this year. During the 103rd meeting of the Council of Ministers, President Félix Tshisekedi stressed the importance of streamlining government actions for the second half of 2023.

The Head of State reminded the members of the government of the instruction he had given them at the 92nd meeting of the Council of Ministers, encouraging them to internalize the government’s action program and to give priority to actions a real impact on people’s lives.

In the minutes of the meeting, government spokesman Patrick Muyaya read President Tshisekedi’s recommendations, which asked each minister to produce a realistic, clear and detailed roadmap, updated with the rest. of the year, with a precise and realistic schedule of priority actions. This approach aims to ensure better clarity of government action.

President Tshisekedi also instructed Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde to present a consolidated government roadmap, taking into account the cash flow plan for the relevant period.

It is important to remember that the current government team, led by Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, comes from the new coalition put in place by President Tshisekedi, following the break-up of the coalition between the FCC and the CACH. , which linked Tshisekedi to Joseph Kabila.

Nearly two years after his installation, President Tshisekedi carried out a technical reorganization at the start of the year, leading to the replacement of certain ministers and the entry of certain political figures, in particular Vital Kamerhe, at the head of the Ministry of National Economy, and Jean-Pierre Bemba, head of the Ministry of National Defense and Veterans Affairs.
