Faith Word In action: Annual review for the empowerment of young women and girls in the DRC

Faith Word In Action Annual Review: Review and Prospects for Empowering Young Women and Girls

Faith Word In Action (FWA), a civic organization committed to the development and empowerment of young women and girls, recently held a workshop in Kinshasa for its annual review. Funded by partners such as Oxfam, FEMNET and the European Union, FWA aims to promote female leadership within communities.

The workshop took place over two days and provided an update on the programmatic and financial execution of FWA activities, as well as progress made towards the key results expected for each member. This annual review made it possible to identify the achievements, constraints and failures of the past year, and to define the objectives and priorities for the coming year.

Anifa Kalombola, Executive Secretary of Faith Word In action, underlined the importance of this workshop as a moment of reflection and planning. This involves taking stock of achievements, assessing the relevance of results, identifying new challenges and developing a work plan for the year 2023.

The workshop also allowed the various partners to share their experiences and their projects. Ms. Kalombola stressed that each partner was free to carry out their own activities outside of the STITCH project, which is supported by Oxfam and FEMNET. This exchange of information and knowledge between the partners makes it possible to strengthen collaborations and to evolve in a positive way.

It should be recalled that Faith Word In action has been present in the DRC for almost four years and is one of the Congolese members of FEMNET. The STITCH project, implemented in seven African countries, aims to promote the empowerment of women and girls. FWA’s annual review workshop marks an important step in achieving this goal.

In conclusion, the annual review workshop of Faith Word In action in Kinshasa made it possible to take stock of past achievements and to plan future actions
