Following the broadcast of a program considered hateful, the Higher Council for Audiovisual and Communication (CSAC) had decided to impose sanctions against various protagonists. Senior advisers reviewed this Friday the precautionary measures taken on May 22, 2023, sanctioning the television channel CML13TV and its guests, as well as the host of a program.
The discussions led to a reduction in the number of days of suspension of the chain from 45 days to 30 days, following a preventive suspension decided for its responsibility in a “disheartening spectacle broadcast on Saturday May 20”, according to a press release from the CSAC.
The program in question, presented by Louis-France Kuzikesa, had led to the 72-day suspension of the presenter from all the media in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), as well as the banishment for 90 days of guests Daniel Safu and Mike Mukebayi of all the media broadcasting in Kinshasa.
Through this decision, the CSAC wishes to discourage any delinquency by the media, also asking for the collaboration of the parliamentary chambers concerned to initiate disciplinary action in this area.
