The Musienene Special Economic Zone continues to develop. Very recently, a quadripartite mission composed of the Ministry of Industry, ANAPI, the Industry Promotion Fund and the Special Economic Zones Agency visited this area to observe the investment works being carried out there. According to their report, work has progressed greatly and a first plant is already running with enough water and power.
Jean Dieudonné Kavese, Chief of Staff to the Minister of Industry, was satisfied with the progress made. This quadripartite mission will have the role of supporting stakeholders in the Musienene economic zone. With this in mind, the mission also visited the Mikaela maize flour production factory in Musienene and the SOPROCOPIV coffee factory in Kyambogho.
This mission was part of a broader development effort, which focuses on restoring peace, tolerance and consolidating the rule of law and democracy in the country. In this perspective, it is important to underline that insecurity remains a major concern for the DRC, as the recent attack in the Virunga National Park testifies.
Overall, the visit of the authorities to the Musienene economic zone gives a positive perspective on the whole project and brings hope for the economic future of the region.
