In this article extract, we discover a remarkable initiative for peaceful cohabitation between the Hema and Lendu communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo. More than 300 Hema students offered school kits to more than 500 Lendu students, with the aim of strengthening peaceful coexistence and putting an end to identity conflicts among children. This action, organized by the NGO Beacon of Hope, demonstrates a gesture of love and solidarity between the two communities. Hema students want to show the importance of brotherly love and teach children to overcome ethnic barriers. They also call on parents and society to ban tribal hate speech and strengthen social cohesion. These donations of school kits also help to improve the quality of education in schools in the region. This beautiful action of mutual aid and solidarity between the two communities is an inspiring example of peaceful cohabitation and the construction of a harmonious society.
