The Renewal of Kasai-Oriental under the Presidency of Félix Tshisekedi

The development of Kasai-Oriental under President Félix Tshisekedi has ushered in a new era of progress and development for this long-neglected province. Governor Jean-Paul Mbwembwe highlighted in a recent press briefing the significant progress made in the region since Tshisekedi came to power. According to him, while previous presidents failed to bring concrete development projects to Kasai-Oriental, Tshisekedi’s leadership has marked a positive turning point for the province.

Previously, the people of Kasai-Oriental felt neglected and ignored by successive administrations. Mobutu’s decades in power, the mandates of Laurent-Désiré Kabila and Joseph Kabila did not leave a memorable memory in terms of development projects for the region. However, with the election of Félix Tshisekedi, things have started to change. The rehabilitation of infrastructure, such as urban roads, the ongoing construction of the Mbuji-Mayi airport, have given hope to the inhabitants.

The support of the population for Félix Tshisekedi does not only come from his local origins, but also from the concrete actions he has undertaken to improve the lives of the inhabitants of Kasaï-Oriental. The inspection of the construction works of the Kananga-Kalamba Mbuji road, crucial for the connectivity and economy of the region, demonstrates the President’s commitment to the development of the province.

President Tshisekedi’s visit to the provinces of Kasaï-Oriental and Central was able to bring a glimmer of hope to these long-marginalized regions. The construction of roads, investments in infrastructure and the emphasis on economic development are all positive signs that indicate a change of direction in the governance of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In conclusion, Kasai-Oriental under the Tshisekedi era symbolizes a renewal and an opportunity for prosperity for its inhabitants. The ongoing development projects and the government’s commitment to the region suggest a promising future for this once marginalized province.
