On this Friday, December 27, 2024, a citizen initiative of capital importance was launched in the city of Beni, located in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Indeed, the civil society of Greater North Kivu took the initiative to launch a campaign in support of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) as well as the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), also known as Wazalendo. This action aims to bring the population together in a spirit of solidarity with the soldiers deployed on various fronts to defend the territorial integrity of the country against the severe threats posed by the M23 in the Petit-Nord and the ADF in the Grand-Nord.
At the initiative of Pépin Kavotha, president of the civil society of Beni, this campaign aims to raise awareness among the city’s inhabitants of the importance of actively supporting the troops engaged on the ground. Indeed, the security and stability of the nation depend on the commitment and support of each and every one. To do this, fundraisers have been organized to allow the population to contribute financially to the war effort led by the FARDC and the VDP. Each contribution, however modest, has the potential to make a real difference in the defense of the nation.
The mobilization of all layers of the population of Beni is essential to ensure the success of this support campaign. Indeed, the unity and solidarity of the population are key elements in the fight against hostile forces that threaten the peace and security of the country. It is crucial that everyone feels concerned by the defense of the homeland, because victory cannot be guaranteed without the involvement of all.
In these times of turmoil and uncertainty, it is essential to support our armed forces and the volunteers who are fighting on the front lines to protect our nation. Every gesture, however small, counts in this fight for the security and stability of our country. By uniting and supporting the soldiers who defend our land, we demonstrate our commitment to our homeland and our determination to preserve its integrity at all costs.
In conclusion, the support campaign launched by the civil society of Beni is an opportunity for each of us to contribute to the security and prosperity of our nation. Together, united in a spirit of solidarity, we can overcome the challenges that lie ahead and ensure a better future for generations to come. Join this civic initiative, support our armed forces and defend the homeland with pride and determination.
