However, this is what happened recently in the Beni region, in North Kivu, with the release of eight hostages taken hostage by the ADF. These eight farmers from the locality of Bakila Tenambo in Oicha, the capital of the Beni territory, managed to escape from their captors, taking advantage of a favorable opportunity to regain their freedom.
This spectacular escape occurs in a particularly tense context, marked by joint military operations by the FARDC-UPDF forces aimed at weakening the ADF in the region. As pressure on the rebels intensified, these eight hostages seized the opportunity to escape with determination and courage.
