Rehabilitation of the Kapalata Congolese National Police Training School in Kisangani, Democratic Republic of Congo
In an effort to improve the infrastructure dedicated to training law enforcement officers in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the Interior, Jacquemain Shabani Lukoo, recently launched the rehabilitation work on the Kapalata Congolese National Police Training School, located 10 km from Kisangani, in the Tshopo province. With funding of 473,000 US dollars allocated by the Government of the Republic, this initiative aims to provide optimal learning conditions for future Congolese police officers.
During his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed the importance of closely monitoring the progress of the work so that the school is operational within 60 days. He also stressed that the recruits already identified, numbering 2,200, will be able to begin their training in the best conditions once the renovations are completed. This approach is part of a desire to strengthen the Congolese national police force and improve the quality of training provided to new members.
The governor of the Tshopo province, Paulin Lendongolia, also spoke out, welcoming the government’s commitment to rehabilitating the training school. He stressed the importance of adequate infrastructure to ensure quality training for future recruits, stressing that the renovated school will help resolve the problem of understaffing within the Congolese national police.
This initiative is part of a series of measures aimed at strengthening law enforcement in the DRC and promoting security and stability in the country.
