Security at Risk: Strategic Meeting to Address Challenges in Lubero

In the heart of the North Kivu province, the security situation in the Lubero region continues to worry provincial and local authorities. A strategic meeting was held last Thursday between a delegation of provincial deputies and the administrator of the Lubero territory, Colonel Alain Kiwewa, to discuss the security challenges facing the population.

During this exchange, the administrator highlighted the complexity of the situation, highlighting the active presence of armed groups in the region. In particular, he mentioned the activism of the ADF, a notorious rebel group that is active in the region and threatens the security of residents.

The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss the various sensitive areas of the territory, such as the south, where the Rwandan army and M23 auxiliaries are exerting pressure on the local population, but also the northeast, where ADF terrorists are a major concern.

In this context, the administrator highlighted the need for rigorous and efficient management of resources to address these security challenges. Cooperation between local authorities and security forces is essential to ensure the protection of citizens and guarantee peace in the region.

The provincial deputies expressed their concern about the situation, stressing the importance of strengthening security measures and supporting law enforcement in their mission. They also praised the commitment of the local population, which has shown resilience despite the difficulties encountered.

At the end of the meeting, the territorial administrator wanted to raise awareness among the population on security issues and express his gratitude to all those involved in the fight for stability in the region. He called for solidarity and vigilance from all to address the threats to the security of Lubero.

In a context marked by insecurity and the threat of armed groups, it is crucial that local and national authorities redouble their efforts to protect the population and ensure a peaceful future for the region. Last Thursday’s meeting highlighted the urgency to act and the need for close cooperation between all stakeholders involved to address the security challenges facing the Lubero region.
