Indeed, with an alarming estimate of 6.3 million displaced people across the country, it becomes imperative for the authorities and humanitarian actors to find concrete and sustainable solutions to respond to this crisis.

During a recent meeting organized in Kinshasa by the General Secretariat for Humanitarian Actions, the situation of internally displaced persons was at the center of the discussions. The speakers, aware of the challenges facing these vulnerable populations, unanimously recognized the need for coordinated and concerted action to provide an adequate response to this problem.

The Secretary General for Humanitarian Actions, Alain Mboko Oyeti, stressed the importance of the commitment of all partners to meet this major humanitarian challenge. He called for collective mobilization in favor of internally displaced persons, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive and structured approach to ensure effective and sustainable assistance.

It is indeed essential that the rights and dignity of these people are respected and that concrete measures are taken to ensure their safety and well-being.

In conclusion, the issue of internally displaced persons in the DRC calls for unprecedented mobilization on the part of the international community, local authorities and humanitarian actors. There is an urgent need to put in place effective and sustainable strategies to meet the pressing needs of these vulnerable populations and offer them a more stable and secure future.
