**Fatshimetrie: Humanitarian emergency in Muanda after bad weather**
The city of Muanda, located in the province of Kongo-Central, is currently in the grip of a humanitarian crisis of unprecedented magnitude. The recent torrential rains that have hit the region have caused considerable damage, leaving nearly two hundred homes completely destroyed and many neighborhoods devastated. The inhabitants, left to their own devices, are now spending their nights under the stars, in a situation of extreme precariousness.
Provincial MP Jean Kimboko Ndombasi, elected representative of Muanda, has sounded the alarm, calling for emergency mobilization to help the victims. He stresses the urgent need for the government to intervene quickly by identifying the affected families in order to better coordinate assistance operations.
The consequences of the bad weather are disastrous, with the formation of numerous erosion heads in different neighborhoods, increasing the risks for the population. MP Kimboko deplores the lack of flood prevention infrastructure in Muanda, stressing the urgency of investing in collector gutters to limit damage during rainy episodes.
While some erosion has been controlled thanks to the intervention of the authorities, particularly with the financial support of international partners, the situation remains critical for many families who are struggling to rebuild their homes. MP Kimboko’s appeal is therefore crucial to raise awareness among the authorities and the international community of the need to act quickly in favor of the victims.
Faced with this disaster, it is our duty as a society to show solidarity and support for our affected fellow citizens. Solidarity and mutual aid are essential values that must guide our actions in this time of crisis. It is time to act together to help the victims of Muanda and provide them with the support they desperately need to rebuild and overcome this ordeal.
Together, let us mobilize to support the inhabitants of Muanda in this difficult ordeal, and contribute to the reconstruction of a united and supportive community, capable of overcoming the challenges that lie ahead.
