Vodacom Congo Road Safety Campaign: Raising Awareness Essential for Safer Roads in the DRC

Fatshimetrie, the leading magazine in the Democratic Republic of Congo, highlights a major initiative launched by Vodacom Congo in partnership with the National Commission for Road Safety (CNPR) in Kinshasa. This road safety campaign aims to raise awareness among the population about the dangers of the road, highlighting in particular the risks associated with using mobile phones while driving, one of the main causes of accidents.

During the launch of this campaign, Vodacom Congo CEO Khalil Al Americani stressed the importance of promoting shared responsibility between the company, suppliers and society as a whole. He highlighted the tragic impact of road accidents and the need to educate and raise awareness among users about the rules of safety and caution when driving.

This initiative is part of a desire to change behaviors in terms of road safety, a crucial issue in the DRC where road accidents are unfortunately frequent, especially during the festive period. With a focus on education and public awareness, Vodacom is also planning interventions in schools to promote responsible driving practices, while spreading prevention messages and safety tips on its platforms.

Agnès Muadi, Human Resources Director at Vodacom Congo, highlighted the company’s commitment to the well-being of its customers, employees and the community as a whole. She highlighted the need to establish a culture of road safety beyond the company’s borders, by mobilizing young people and families to make them relays of this crucial message.

This campaign is part of a broader social responsibility approach by Vodacom Congo, which has been working for more than 22 years in the telecommunications sector to support community development and improve the quality of life of the Congolese. By working closely with the CNPR, the company aims to create a safer environment for all road users, especially young people, by organizing targeted interventions in schools.

In conclusion, the road safety campaign launched by Vodacom Congo in partnership with the CNPR represents a significant step towards increasing awareness of road hazards in the Democratic Republic of Congo. With the aim of reducing accidents and improving overall safety on Congolese roads, every action counts and every life is precious in this common quest for a safer and more responsible journey.
