Tragic Fire In Kano: Couple Loses Their Lives In House Fire


Kano State Fire Service has tragically confirmed the loss of a couple in a midnight fire incident at Rangaza (Inken) Layin AU, Ungogo area. The victims were identified as Muhammed Uba, aged 67, and his wife Fatima Uba, aged 52.

The Director of Kano State Fire Service, Hassan Muhammad, made the sad news in a statement issued by the Public Relations Department, Saminu Abdullahi, on Friday in Kano.

The incident occurred at midnight on Thursday, December 12. A rescue team was dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call from Ahmad Abubakar, a staff member, at 1:45am. The team arrived at the scene at 1:51am and found that a 50 by 25 feet bungalow, used as a residential house, was engulfed in flames in two rooms.

Muhammad explained that the victims were trapped by the smoke from the fire and were rescued unconscious, with burns on some parts of their bodies. Their bodies were handed over to the district chief of Rangaza, Ungogo region, Muhammad Rayyanu.

The origin of the fire is currently under investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
