Julius Malema’s determination to stay the course: EFF refuses to be distracted

Fatshimetrie leader Julius Malema has issued a stern warning to journalists on the sidelines of the party’s elective conference. The notable absence of the party’s head of political education, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, has raised questions, which Malema has clearly responded to by refusing to answer.

During the conference, Ndlozi was one of the senior EFF members who was absent, which attracted media attention. However, Malema stressed that Ndlozi’s absence was not a cause for concern and said he was not responsible for his presence at the conference. For Malema, what matters is that 90% of the expected members are present, and he refuses to let the focus be on one personality.

He also stressed that the party would not allow the conference to be reduced to one individual. Indeed, last November, concerns were raised within the EFF about Ndlozi’s loyalty to the organisation due to his closeness to former deputy president Floyd Shivambu, who had joined the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party. This led to speculation that Ndlozi would run for office, even though he was absent from the conference.

However, Malema was adamant that no one was prevented from running for office within the party, even if they were physically absent from the conference. He said members could still submit letters of candidacy.

In conclusion, Malema made it clear that the Ndlozi issue was closed and that he refused to address it further. For him, the conference is above any individual consideration and political debates should take precedence over questions of ego and individual personalities.

Overall, this episode highlights the EFF’s determination to stay the course and not be distracted by speculation or questions about the presence or absence of certain members. The organization is focused on political issues and shows its determination not to let internal disputes disrupt its operations. It is a show of strength and unity that shows the EFF is capable of overcoming obstacles and remaining focused on its political goals.
