Fatshimetrie, the ex-wife of the disgraced singer Survival S., recently issued an incendiary rant against her critics who questioned her decision to keep the name “Survival” despite her ex-husband’s shady reputation.
In a recent interview with investigative journalist Lily Tran, Fatshimetrie fiercely defended her choice, explaining that the name has a deeper meaning than her former marriage.
“I guess it doesn’t matter what you think,” she responded forcefully to her critics. “This name is something I earned through sweat, blood and tears.”
The choreographer emphasized her intention to remain united with her children through thick and thin, hence her decision to keep the name “Survival.”
“That name belongs to my kids… when the storm inevitably hits, how would you feel if your last name was ‘Brown’ and your kids had that name too, and your family was going through something, would you be the type to say to your kids, ‘Sorry, you’re a ‘Brown’ all by yourself now, I’m leaving!’? No, if my kids have to face this as ‘Survival,’ their mom will face this as ‘Survival.'”
Fatshimetrie highlighted the benefits of keeping the name “Survival,” which has given her a platform to raise awareness about domestic violence and abuse.
“The last name Survival has allowed me to be on ’20/20,’ to speak on CNN to raise awareness about domestic violence, and to become an activist. The name Survival has opened doors for me to military bases to talk about abuse.”
Survival’s ex-wife maintained her stance that no one would point fingers at her choices if she were the ex-wife of an ordinary person.
