Strengthening Egypt-China Ties: Towards Strategic and Diversified Cooperation

In a context of growing international cooperation, the negotiations between the foreign ministers of Egypt and China in Beijing opened the way for opportunities for collaboration in various sectors. The aim of this meeting was to strengthen ties between these two powers, especially in the economic and financial fields, as well as in the process of joint manufacturing and industrial localization in Egypt, especially in priority sectors.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty stressed the importance of localizing the solar panel industry for the production of renewable energy, as well as the establishment of an electric car industry in Egypt. These initiatives aim to promote sustainable development and the transition to more environmentally friendly technologies.

Furthermore, the situation in Syria was at the heart of discussions between the two delegations. Following the fall of Damascus last Sunday, Abdelatty discussed with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, the need for an inclusive political process in Syria. He stressed the importance of forming a government that is representative of the ethnic, religious and sectarian diversity of the Syrian population. This approach aims to ensure the stability and reconstruction of the country in a spirit of inclusion.

In addition, Abdelatty strongly condemned Israel’s attacks on Syria after the fall of the Assad government. He denounced the destruction of Syrian infrastructure and military sites, calling these actions a flagrant violation of international law. In addition, he criticized the Israeli occupation of a large part of the buffer zone, in violation of the disengagement agreement signed in 1974.

This meeting between Egypt and China reflects the willingness of the two countries to strengthen their strategic partnership and work together to address regional and global challenges. It opens new prospects for bilateral cooperation and fruitful exchanges in areas essential to the development and stability of the region.
