Egypt’s Commitment to Syria’s Sovereignty and Unity: A Pillar of Regional Stability

In an ever-complex and fluid geopolitical context, Egypt’s role in supporting Syria’s sovereignty and unity is of paramount importance. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdel Atty recently stressed Egypt’s firm commitment to Syria, whether in terms of sovereignty, unity or territorial integrity.

During a phone call with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, the Egyptian minister highlighted the need to adopt a comprehensive political process in Syria, without excluding any Syrian national party, in order to foster the return of stability in the country scarred by years of conflict.

Among the points discussed during this discussion was the issue of Israel’s occupation of the buffer zone with Syria and adjacent leadership sites. Egypt has clearly condemned these actions as a flagrant violation of Syrian sovereignty and international law, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities to end this aggression against the Syrian state.

Its commitment to Syria’s sovereignty and unity is part of a comprehensive approach aimed at restoring stability and peace in the region.

Ultimately, Egypt positions itself as a key player in the search for peaceful solutions to regional crises, demonstrating its desire to promote security and prosperity in the Middle East. Its support for Syria in its quest for sovereignty and unity illustrates its commitment to justice, international cooperation and the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
