A tragic accident occurred in the Assiut region of Egypt, when a microbus carrying 10 passengers and the driver fell into the Ibrahimiya Canal in the center of Dayrout. The governor of Assiut, Hisham Abul-Nasr, reported that the driver failed to take the necessary safety measures when leaving the vehicle, causing it to drift into the waters of the canal. Local authorities, including rescue teams, police forces and the Civil Defense, immediately responded to try to save those trapped in the microbus and to recover the body of the victim.

Under the leadership of Assiut Safety Director Wael Nassar, rescue teams and divers have mobilized to conduct an intensive search and rescue operation. The goal is to quickly find anyone who may still be trapped inside the submerged microbus.
