Zone 16 Investigations: Suspects Arrested for Fraud, Identity Theft and Drugs in Rumukparali


Last Saturday, the Police Zone 16 paraded three suspects for their alleged involvement in drug and fraud activities in Rumukparali community in the Obio/Akpo area of ​​Nigeria. According to the Spokesperson for the zone in Yenagoa, SP Gunn Emonena, the Zonal Cyber ​​and Financial Crimes Unit, based on credible intelligence, raided Rumukparali community to arrest the suspects. Billion Ndubuisi, Charles Amachree and Martins Chinemike were apprehended and confessed to impersonating Ryam Bill, a US-based personality, to defraud St. Andrea and Charles Zielinsky of the sum of US$71,500. During the search of their premises, packages of hard drugs suspected to be cannabis, two vehicles, two laptops and ten phones were recovered.

The spokesperson noted that at one point, the suspects attempted to bribe the investigating officers by offering them the sum of US$17,000 in bribes, which was flatly rejected by the honest and trained officers in the area. The money was seized and will be presented as evidence during the suspects’ trial.

The Commissioner of Police for the area, Adebola Hamzat, reaffirmed his commitment to protecting the lives and property of citizens in his jurisdiction and across the country. This operation further demonstrates the determination of the law enforcement agencies to combat crime in all its forms, be it drugs, fraud or corruption.
