The Tragic Fate of Kehinde Oduse: A Struggle for Survival and Justice

In the sleepy village of Ita Marun, Lagos, an unimaginable tragedy struck the Oduse family, catapulting Kehinde into the thick of a fight for survival. After miraculously escaping an arson attack that claimed the lives of his wife and children, the courageous young man battled severe burns for a week before succumbing to his injuries in the early hours of Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the Gbagada General Hospital.

On the fateful night of Tuesday, November 26, Kehinde Oduse, his wife Eniola and their two young children were in a peaceful sleep when unknown assailants entered their home at around 2am. Their heinous act ignited a devastating fire, trapping the entire family in the flames. Sadly, Kehinde’s wife and children did not survive the blaze, leaving them with an indelible sense of despair.

The sad denouement of this story has further increased the pain of the Oduse family, especially Kehinde’s twin sister Taiwo, who confirmed his death with heavy heartache. Despite the doctors’ relentless efforts to save him, Kehinde eventually passed away, taken by the severity of his burns. Initial hopes of survival, though slim, soon faded, giving way to heartbreaking pain and a profound sense of loss.

The harrowing scene of Kehinde, dying in the emergency room, was a poignant testimony to his relentless struggle against death. His family, helpless in the face of his suffering, tried to comfort and support him, but the excruciating pain eventually got the better of his resilience.

A family member, Razaq, raised a disturbing hypothesis about the probable motive for the attack, suggesting that greed for the Oduse family’s ancestral lands could be the motive behind this atrocious crime. He called for a thorough investigation to unravel this complex case and demanded justice for these immeasurable losses. The community and authorities must join forces to identify the culprits and bring them to justice as the shadow of the tragedy still hangs over Ita Marun.
