Friday, November 29 marked a historic moment for the province of Kwilu, with the inauguration of the new laboratory at the Kikwit-Nord general reference hospital. This innovative project, financed by the World Bank through the Redisse program and carried out in partnership with the UG-PDSS and inovie, represents a real turning point for the local health system.

During the inauguration ceremony, the emotion was palpable. Doctor Michel Muvudi, representative of the World Bank, symbolically handed over the keys to this state-of-the-art laboratory to Doctor Baudoin Makuma of the UG-PDSD, who then handed them over to the acting governor of the province. Doctor Muvudi stressed the importance of this state-of-the-art equipment, which will allow rapid and accurate analysis of samples and promote more effective diagnosis of diseases and epidemics that may be rife in the region.

For Acting Governor Jean Malo, this achievement is of capital importance for the health of the province’s inhabitants. Indeed, the new facilities will allow patients to benefit from on-site examinations, thus avoiding long journeys and guaranteeing reliable results in shorter time frames. This undeniably represents major progress for access to care and the quality of health services in the region.

But the inauguration of the Kikwit-Nord laboratory is only the beginning of a series of achievements under the Redisse program. The following day, Saturday, November 30, the governor also inaugurated the laboratory of the Mosango general reference hospital, built thanks to this same project financed by the World Bank.

Thus, the laboratories of Mosango, Kikwit, Gungu, Idiofa and Bandundu-Ville are now equipped with the latest technologies, providing health professionals with cutting-edge tools to carry out their work with excellence. This modernization of medical infrastructure opens new perspectives in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, thus strengthening the capacity of health authorities to guarantee the well-being of the population.

In conclusion, the inauguration of these laboratories marks a significant step forward for the health sector in the province of Kwilu, offering residents quality services and contributing to the fight against diseases. This initiative demonstrates the commitment of the authorities and international partners to improve the living and health conditions of local populations, and paves the way for a more promising future for all.
