The Transformation of Nasser Institute Hospital into Nile Medical City: Towards a Health Revolution in Egypt


Fatshimetrie, the news on the progress of the project to renovate the Nasser Institute Hospital into the Nile Medical City has attracted considerable interest. Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly supervised this project on Saturday, November 30, 2024, stressing its importance in providing health services to patients and citizens throughout Egypt.

The establishment of the Nile Medical City on the strategic site of Corniche el Nil will, according to Madbouly, be a qualitative leap in providing all types of health care to patients. He stressed that the state attaches great importance to improving the quality of health services provided to citizens.

During this visit, Prime Minister Madbouly was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Governor of Cairo Ibrahim Saber, Deputy Minister of Health for National Projects Anwar Ismail and Director of the Nasser Institute Hospital Mahmoud Saeed.

Abdel Ghaffar stressed that the Ministry of Health prioritizes the expansion of health projects and the construction of new infrastructure in all governorates, starting with the renovation of the Nasser Institute Hospital for Research and Treatment to make it the largest medical city in Egypt and the Middle East.

He stressed the commitment of the ministry, in collaboration with the relevant parties, to provide all the necessary medical equipment and provide doctors specialized in various fields.

Abdel Ghaffar also indicated that the Nasser Institute Hospital, which is being transformed into the Nile Medical City, had not been renovated for 30 years until 2015.

This initiative aims to modernize Egypt’s healthcare infrastructure and ensure access to quality healthcare for all citizens. The realization of this project represents a significant step in establishing state-of-the-art medical facilities and training highly qualified healthcare professionals to meet the growing healthcare needs of the population.

The commitment of the government and the health sector to improve medical services throughout the country is vital to ensure the well-being and health of the Egyptian population.
