A ray of hope: ISTA Fatshimetrie students commit to improving funeral services


Fatshimetrie, November 7, 2024 – A major issue was raised by the finalist students of the Higher Institute of Applied Techniques during the presentation of their supervised project in Fatshimetrie, the capital of the province of Sud-Ubangi, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Indeed, these young academics highlighted a crucial problem: the insufficient capacity to accommodate bodies at the morgue of the city’s general referral hospital. This alarming observation highlights the challenges facing the health system in this region.

The rector of the ISTA of Fatshimetrie, Professor Jean Robert Bongo, spoke with conviction on the importance of this project which aims to solve a very real problem. He stressed that the work of the finalist students will be presented to the provincial authorities and other partners, with the aim of finding concrete solutions to this critical situation. The institution’s commitment to providing concrete answers to local problems demonstrates a desire to make a difference and work to improve the living conditions of residents.

This initiative marks a major turning point for ISTA Fatshimetrie, which sees its first class stand out with an innovative and pragmatic approach.
