Resolution of administrative conflicts between provinces in the DRC: A future of peace and prosperity

“Fatshimetrie: Resolving administrative conflicts between provinces in the DRC”

During the recent eleventh session of the conference of provincial governors in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), a hot topic was highlighted: administrative conflicts between different regions of the country. These tensions, often linked to territorial disputes and land issues, are a major obstacle to the harmonious development of provinces and community cohesion.

Head of State Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi spoke at this session to announce a promising initiative. He committed to calling on the expertise of the Geographical Institute of Congo (IGC) to address these issues with professionalism and impartiality. This approach aims to provide lasting solutions to conflicts related to boundaries between territories, which have fueled tensions between communities and hampered local development.

In a determined speech, Félix Tshisekedi stressed the importance of strengthening provincial governance to ensure community cohesion, an essential element for the success of the local development program of the 145 territories. He called on leaders to establish a strong, efficient provincial administration that is close to citizens, based on the legal principles and rules set out by law.

At the heart of this approach, the objective is to transform ambitions into tangible realities, by creating employment opportunities and strengthening trust between the State and its citizens. By promoting the resolution of territorial disputes and organizing provincial public services in a rigorous and efficient manner, the government positions itself as a guarantor of peace and stability at the local level.

Administrative conflicts between provinces in the DRC are not simply territorial disagreements, but crucial issues that directly impact the lives of populations. By taking concrete steps to resolve these tensions, President Tshisekedi is demonstrating his determination to build a harmonious future for all communities in the country.

Ultimately, resolving administrative conflicts between provinces in the DRC cannot be achieved without a strong commitment from the authorities and close collaboration between the various stakeholders. By leveraging the expertise of the IGC, strengthening local governance and fostering dialogue between communities, the DRC is paving the way for a more peaceful and prosperous future for all its citizens.”
