The tragic loss of Jemimah Mogwo Mambasa: a call for the safety of journalists


The tragic death of Jemimah Mogwo Mambasa, a renowned journalist with Radiotélévision nationale congolaise (RTNC), has deeply shaken the world of media and press in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Her untimely death following a brutal attack by armed individuals leaves a huge void in the media landscape.

Jemimah Mogwo Mambasa, a respected presenter of RTNC television news, was attacked while looking for transportation to return home after finishing her news bulletin. Despite the efforts of medical staff at the Cinquantenaire Hospital in Kinshasa, she did not survive her injuries. An immeasurable loss for her family, colleagues and the entire Congolese journalistic community.
