The world is changing rapidly, and international exchanges are taking on new dimensions. It is in this constantly changing context that François Muamba Tshishimbi, Coordinator of the Presidential Council for Strategic Monitoring (CPVS), was invited to take part in the Second Dialogue of Global South Think Tanks in Nanjing, China.

This international meeting, initiated by China to strengthen strategic cooperation with emerging and less developed countries in the South, is a crucial step in building a more equitable world that respects the specificities of each nation. As a representative of the CPVS, François Muamba took the opportunity to share his vision and thoughts on China’s dazzling progress and the opportunities it offers to the Global South.

In his speech, François Muamba highlighted five key factors that contributed to China’s success: vision, will, organization, good governance and time. These elements, combined with a strategic approach and rigorous implementation, have enabled China to make impressive progress and become a major player in the global economy.

For François Muamba, China’s success is an inspiring example for all countries in the South, whether emerging or developing. He thus encourages South-South cooperation, highlighting the potential of this alliance to become a driver of global economic exchanges. With nearly 40% of global GDP and 85% of the global population, countries in the South are playing an increasingly important role on the international stage.

The CPVS Coordinator also highlighted the growth of South-South trade, from 17% in 2005 to 28% in 2021. This positive trend reflects the emergence of a new economic model based on cooperation between nations of the South, promoting mutually beneficial development.

However, for this vision of cooperation and shared prosperity to be realized, François Muamba stressed the need for China to play a responsible leadership role. He calls for preventing countries of the South from remaining confined to their role as suppliers of raw materials, and insists on the promotion of fair and sustainable cooperation.

By supporting the initiative of the Alliance of Southern Think Tanks, François Muamba affirms the commitment of the Democratic Republic of Congo and its President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo to play an active role in this regional dynamic. China is thus called upon to support developing countries in their transition towards manufacturing and services industries, promoting economic diversification and a reduction in inequalities..

In conclusion, the Global South Think Tank Dialogue in Nanjing opened new perspectives for enhanced cooperation among the countries of the South. Under the leadership of visionary leaders such as François Muamba, the Global South can become a central player in the global economy, bringing shared and sustainable prosperity for all.

In this context of rapid globalization and complex challenges, it is essential that China and other actors of the Global South continue to work hand in hand to build a common future, marked by solidarity, equity and prosperity for all.
