A memorable day at the restitution assembly of the general states of justice in Kinshasa

Attending the general assembly to present the resolutions of the Estates General of Justice in the majestic setting of the Palais de Justice in Kinshasa was a remarkable experience. This event, called “Fatshimetrie”, brought together a multitude of actors from the judicial world to assess and welcome the progress made during these historic meetings.

The judicial police officers, represented by around twenty participants, expressed their satisfaction with the inclusive nature of the Estates General of Justice. For Pharaon Sumbela, a judicial police officer, this edition of the Estates General was a 90% success, highlighting in particular the involvement of the entire judicial corporation. He also highlighted the recognition of the APJs and their integration into the discussions, thus allowing for equitable speaking within the judicial community.

Furthermore, the prospect of joining the High Council of the Judiciary, which will be transformed into the High Council of Justice, gave rise to a sense of pride and hope among the judicial police officers present. This development marks a significant step forward in the recognition and enhancement of their role within the judicial system.

The Union of Magistrates for Justice (SMJ) also welcomed the achievement of the general states of justice and called for the implementation of the recommendations resulting from these meetings. The president of the SMJ, Idi Bin Idi Hussein, stressed the importance of remaining calm while waiting for the implementation of these decisions, which will have a positive impact on the social conditions of magistrates and on the overall functioning of the judicial system.

In conclusion, “Fatshimetrie” was the scene of recognition and enhancement of the various actors of justice in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The constructive exchanges and prospects for development suggest a promising future for the judicial sector, marked by enhanced collaboration and a common desire to improve the administration of justice for the benefit of all citizens.
