TP Mazembe fall to AS Far of Morocco in CAF Women’s Champions League

The recent CAF Women’s Champions League match between TP Mazembe and AS Far of Morocco offered a spectacle rich in twists and turns and intensity. The Corbelles, who had started the match on the hats of wheels by taking the lead thanks to a goal by Elena Obono, saw their lead melt like snow in the sun as the minutes passed.

The first half had seen the Congolese team dominate the debates and take the lead on the scoreboard. The early goal by Elena Obono, on a beautiful combination orchestrated by Merveille Kanjinga, had given wings to TP Mazembe. However, the second period proved much more complicated for the Black and Whites, who were unable to maintain their advantage.

The AS Far team of Morocco, led by a high-flying performance by Doha Madani, turned the tide at the start of the second half. Saana Mssoudy’s goals then sealed the victory for the Moroccans, who were able to demonstrate realism and efficiency to get the upper hand on their opponents.

Despite an attempt at revolt at the end of the match, notably with a penalty missed by Thelma Baffour, TP Mazembe was unable to reverse the trend and lost 3-1. This defeat is a hard blow for the Corbelles, who will have to react quickly to get back into the competition.

TP Mazembe’s next match against Medina is therefore set to be decisive for the Congolese team, who will have to show a completely different face to hope to bounce back. This setback against AS Far of Morocco will certainly serve as a lesson and will encourage the players to redouble their efforts to achieve their goals in this prestigious competition.

In conclusion, this CAF Women’s Champions League match highlighted the difficulty and intensity of the competition, as well as the need for maximum preparation and concentration to hope to shine on the continental stage. TP Mazembe will have to learn from this defeat to bounce back and continue to progress in their quest for success.
