Snel commits to reliable electricity supply during end-of-year festivities in the DRC

Fatshimetrie, November 3, 2025 – As the end-of-year festivities are fast approaching in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the National Electricity Company (Snel) has announced the implementation of measures to ensure adequate electricity supply during this crucial period. In an official press release issued recently, Snel unveiled its action plan to guarantee a stable and reliable supply of electricity across the country.

The Director of the Kinshasa Distribution Department, Mr. Tukuzu, took the lead by organizing meetings with the various branches of Snel, with the aim of identifying critical points in the electricity network. These meetings made it possible to draw up a precise inventory and determine the actions to be implemented to anticipate electricity needs during the end-of-year and New Year festivities.

While visiting the sites of some potential customers, Mr. Tukuzu and his team noted the growing demand for electricity, particularly in booming economic areas such as Maluku and Kin Malebo. The establishment of new industries and urban expansion in the eastern sector of Kinshasa have increased the pressure on the electricity distribution network, requiring increased coordination between all stakeholders involved.

Thus, Snel is determined to meet this challenge by implementing preventive measures to guarantee reliable and efficient electricity supply during the upcoming festivities. By ensuring that potential tension points are anticipated and by strengthening existing infrastructure, the national electricity company intends to ensure customer satisfaction and contribute to the smooth running of end-of-year celebrations throughout the country.

In conclusion, Snel’s proactive approach to electricity supply for the end-of-year festivities demonstrates its desire to meet the growing electricity needs of the Congolese population. By committing to providing adequate and reliable service, the company helps to strengthen the confidence of its customers and support the economic development of the country. ACP/JF
