Fatshimetrie, November 2, 2024 – The preservation of the cultural and ancestral values of the Black in the face of the influence of the white man is a critical issue in the current context of globalization. During the recent interdisciplinary conference held in Ngandajika, Professor Noël Tshiani Muadiamvita raised essential points concerning the harmful effects of colonization on the identity and cohesion of black populations.
It is undeniable that the arrival of the white man in Africa has profoundly upset the cultural and social balance of black societies. By exploiting the continent’s natural and economic resources, the West has imposed its own vision of the world on local populations, leading to a gradual loss of the traditions and ancestral values that made the black man rich.
Professor Tshiani highlighted the process of cultural and identity deconstruction that colonization has engendered, in particular through the promotion of mixed marriage, miscegenation and corruption. These practices aimed to weaken community ties and divide black populations in order to better control and exploit them.
Faced with these threats, Noël Tshiani proposed the establishment of a “Tshiani law” aimed at protecting Congolese sovereignty and identity by limiting access to positions of power to only Congolese nationals of origin. This initiative aims to preserve the integrity and authenticity of Congolese institutions and values in the face of external influences.
It is essential to recognize the ability of black people to positively influence the world by proposing innovative and inspiring ideas. The example of the Gabonese Republic, which has integrated the criterion of Congolese descent into its Constitution, demonstrates the relevance and scope of Noël Tshiani’s proposals at the continental level.
Ultimately, the preservation of the cultural and ancestral values of black people is a major challenge for the future of African societies. In the face of the challenges of globalization and foreign influence, it is essential to promote diversity, respect for traditions and the affirmation of black identity to build a harmonious and prosperous future for generations to come. The time has come to celebrate the richness and diversity of African cultures, rejecting all forms of oppression and cultural dispossession.
